There are several steps involved in commissioning a custom design and each step is designed to ensure you are happy with the final installation. There are many factors to consider in creating glass garden designs and Barbara has learned that gathering more information during this process is essential to ensure happiness with the final design.

Initial consultation is a time to meet to discuss your preferences and ideas. It is also a time for Barbara to see the garden space to get a better sense of existing garden plantings and structures as well as any potential installation challenges. Some consultations may be creative meetings of brainstorming ideas for future designs while other consultations provide time for design advice, recommendations and guidance for future projects. Whether the consultation is the first step in garden design or part of a garden evaluation, the initial meeting is helpful in determining how Barbara can help create your ideal garden space.

Conceptual Design Process
If you choose to have an initial design constructed, Barbara will discuss the details of your expectations. At this time you can define the scope, budget and timeline of your custom glass project. Photos of the garden are taken to aid in developing sketches and plans for the installation. Conceptual plans show the broad concept of the design with simple detailing. Color selection is also determined at this time. The master plan is created from a shared conceptual vision developed during the consultations.

Construction Details
Once the master plan has been adjusted to your satisfaction, more detailed drawings are developed of your custom glass features. Lighting and electrical plans are also incorporated, if required. Color samples of major installations are provided for approval prior to commencement of your custom project. Once you have approved the final details, a final estimate will be prepared. Work on your custom project will begin upon receipt of a 50% deposit.

Your custom glass project will be installed in your garden upon completion. At that time you will be provided with information on the care and upkeep of your sculpture and final pictures will be taken.
